Earlier in his career he spent several years as a researcher with the Center for Governmental Research, a think-tank and consulting firm based in Rochester, NY. He also held appointments as an adjunct professor of both history and education at Nazareth College of Rochester, NY. Eric holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Economics from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University. He also earned a Doctorate in Education from the Warner School of Education at the University of Rochester.

THE WATERWHEEL

The waterwheel was an early source of mechanical energy replacing that of humans and animals, and was first utilized for tasks such as raising water, fulling cloth, and grinding grain. This product of human ingenuity has been lauded for its stability, consistency, and efficiency.

Waterwheels have been common in western, central, and upstate NY. Rochester's High Falls neighborhood has featured a 25 foot, 20-ton waterwheel for many years.
